Mehmet Kadir CIRIK

I’m originally from Tarsus (Mersin) and currently live in Ankara. I work as a Senior Cyber Security Engineer at Barikat Cyber Security. My days go into investigating alerts, responding to incidents, threat hunting and building detection rules across customers’ EDR, NDR, XDR, SIEM and SOAR platforms, and giving SOC teams L3 support on critical investigations.

I graduated from Fırat University in Digital Forensics Engineering in 2022, with a minor in Computer Engineering. In spring 2021 I spent a semester at South East European University in North Macedonia through Erasmus, living there for about eight months, and later completed my MSc in Digital Forensics, again at Fırat University.

I started on the blue team as an assistant at Sparta Bilişim, then worked as an MDR analyst at ADEO, grew from L2 to L3 and SOC team lead at Destel, and focused on incident response, vulnerability management and DevSecOps at Kariyer.net. I also write detection rules in the SOC Prime Threat Bounty program.

Here I share what I learn in the field: detection engineering, SIEM/SOAR, incident response and AI in security.
